Planning a funeral is a very significant and emotional event. Therefore it is essential that you choose a reliable and experienced Funeral Director who will listen to the unique needs of those charged with this responsibility. In considering the beliefs, cultural and family influences, guidance is given to ensure you know all the options available and yet still have the freedom and control to make decisions that suit you.

When a death occurs, whether sudden or expected, the initial call to the Funeral
Director can be quite daunting given the many legal and practical requirements that surround someone dying. However a simple call giving your name and number will allow us to continue supporting you throughout this time so that the experience maybe one of reflections and good memories.

The choice of Burial or Cremation, an appropriate venue, and the use of flowers,
music and personal items can all contribute to a ceremony that reflects accurately on a person’s life. It is therefore critical that we get this right for you.
After the funeral it is our responsibility to submit details of the person to the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages so that their death is recorded. These details are simply those recorded already on any Birth or Marriage Certificate they may have. It is this submission that generates what is known as the Certified Certificate of Death, which is needed to administer the many aspects of the deceased estate. For your reference the details required are listed here.

  • Deceased’s full name
  • Deceased’s full address
  • Date and place of birth
  • If born overseas, the arrival date in Australia
  • Father’s full name and occupation
  • Mother’s full maiden name and occupation
  • To whom married (including full maiden name)
  • Date and place of any marriage
  • Full name and date of birth of any children

These days many people consider prearranging and/or prepaying funerals so that their requests can be recorded. Doing so sometimes offers security and peace of mind, enabling them to get on with enjoying life. There are numerous options available and it is not always easy to identify the most suitable plan for your circumstances. It is best to take time with this decision as many plans involve contractual obligations.
I am always available, should you wish to talk to someone about these matters.
